Johnston County YMCA summer camps 2013 list a wide range of day camps for kids and teens. YMCA camps are popular among campers living across Iowa. These Summer Camps are predominantly timed around first week of June and extend up to the third week of August. From toddlers to teens there is a camp for all ages. The venue for the camps is Clayton Middle School.
For the Kindergartners to five, there is ‘Camp Explorer’ that deals with entertaining the kids with various programs like swimming, skill development, character development, weekly themes, crafts, games and family events. One week sessions start from June 10 to August 23 and the timings are 7.00 am to 6.00 pm.
For the grade 1 to five there is a special sports event known as ‘Camp, Fun-damentals’ that deals with teaching, training and enhances sportsmanship along with developing athletic ability while having fun. The five day fun camp starts from June 17 and ends on August 02, on stipulated dates. This camp has two options, while day timing is as usual, the half a day timing commences from 7 am and ends at 12.30 pm.
For kids and teens in the age group 3 years to sixteen years there is an exclusive soccer training session, ‘Challenger British Soccer Camp.’ It concentrates on foot skill development, technical and tactical practices, and daily tournament style play. Campers will receive a free camp T shirt, soccer ball and handwritten evaluation from the Coach. This five day soccer camp starts on June 08 and ends on June 12 and the timings are 7.00 am to 6.00 pm.
For teens in grades six to 9, there is ‘Camp 3 for middle scholars.’ Objective of the camp is to inculcate varied activity to bring out the leader within. Campers would not only have ample fun with typical activities but also well be encouraged to have more independence and age-appropriate opportunities. One week sessions start from June 10 to August 23 and the timings are 7.00 am to 6.00 pm.
