This summer, do something different! Instead of taking your children to amusement parks, pack them off to a summer camp where they won’t just experience the rides, but also learn how their favorite rides, from coaster to carousel operates. Yes, that’s right!
Northern Illinois University announces Engineering Amusement Summer Camp for 5-7 graders. In this STEM camp, children shall learn all about how their favorite amusement park attractions really work and explore the answers to questions like “Why don’t you fall out when the ride goes upside down?” and “How do they make Dippin’ Dots?”
And if you thought that was all, Camp Navigator team urges you to read on! Here, campers will also get to design their own thrill rides, learn how engineers optimize traffic flow, and even get to concoct their own carnival confections. What more, the kid campers will also get to spend one entire day at Six FlagsāGreat America. Now isn’t that just amazing.
Science and engineering educators from the North Illinois will conduct the sessions, and science and education students will provide counseling.
NIU’s STEM camp leadership collaborates with NIU faculty in adolescent development to create a camp environment that will boost the development of every camper.
