The Hospice & Community Care’s Pathways Center for Grief & Loss is hosting two summer camps — Camp Chimaqua and Camp Mend A Heart — for grieving children this summer.
Camp Mend A Heart will be a day’s affair for grieving children aged between 6-18 years. Plus, the camp will extend sessions for adults as well as provide opportunities for family time. The camp will be held on Saturday, May 31, at Penn Grove Retreat Center, Hanover.
Camp Chimaqua, on the other hand, will be an overnight weekend camp for mourning kids aged between 6-12 years. It will be held at Camp Donegal in York County from June 6-8, 2014.
Camp Navigator team has learned that both the camps will be hosted by professional Pathways Center counselors and trained volunteers. A registered nurse will be on-site for the duration of each camp.
Registration for both the camps are on. Any child or teen wanting to enroll in these camps must meet a Pathways Center counselor to predetermine if the camp is meant for them.
The fee for Camp Mend A Heart is $15 per person or $50 per family of four or more, and the registration deadline is May 2. The cost of Camp Chimaqua is $25 per child, and the last day of the registration is May 16. Campers can seek financial aid for attending any of these camps.
