This is our third year as the Young Vincents Program at Carrie Curran Art Studios. In 1996 we started Fine Art for Children and in 2004 the Youth Academy at Scottsdale Artists School. Our summer fine arts program has been evolving for over 16 years.

We are located on the northwest corner of Scottsdale and Shea in the Sundown Plaza building.

[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What is your camp’s philosophy?” tab_id=”1488805562684-15743552-22ad”]

Fun is the most important aspect of any summer camp and our program is designed to engage youth in a fine art education while having fun. Children need to be creative and need to learn the skills to express themselves. Teachers help students develop traditional painting and drawing skills, building self-confidence and self-esteem. Students gain art appreciation and life long skills.

Carrie Curran Art Studios is a paint studio and we specialize in teaching painting and the foundation for painting which is drawing. The children participate in daily drawing exercises that are designed to develop the right side of the brain.

[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What activities do you offer?” tab_id=”1489147114089-cc047cc3-c1b2″]

Our main activity is teaching the children to paint with acrylics on canvas. Additionally, they learn to paint with quality watercolor materials, learn to draw using graphite, pastels, and pen and ink, and they explore a variety of materials to create unusual mixed media and 3D artwork.

Sessions are Monday – Thursday 9am- 3pm and are $295 per session. All supplies included.

[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”How much staff do you have and how do you select your staff? ” tab_id=”1488805789916-e80715d9-957f”]

Our summer staff has been together for six years and we call ourselves the dream team because together successfully accomplish teaching children art and professionally presenting a quality program in our community. We have two art education professionals, a licensed teacher, an artist with a fine art degree and art students to assist the children.

[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Why should parents send their kids to your camp?” tab_id=”1488805831034-03374034-f024″]

It is an opportunity for children to experience a fully functioning art studio, inspiring creativity. They receive instruction from professional artists and a talented staff. Children who attend this camp will gain skills and a love of art for life. It is the kind of program that we believe should be taught in order to gain an art foundation for life. The Young Vincents’ program continues to grow by word of mouth because kids and parents both love our camp enjoy the experience and enrichment they receive.

[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”When does your camp enrollment start and finish?” tab_id=”1488805868856-26e5c1c9-8fbc”]

Enrollment has already begun and l continues through the end of summer. Sometimes parents choose to enroll students the Sunday night before the session starts on Monday morning. We do not recommend this but we can accommodate last minute reservations if our session is not full.

[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Is there anything else that would be helpful for parents to know about your camp?” tab_id=”1489641651640-1b83a1bc-bc2b”]

Through seventeen years of experience we have learned how to empower children to explore their creativity and discover new things about themselves while learning fine art skills and making new friends. At the end of each session children are proud to show their parents, friends and community their portfolio of work at the weekly student show.
