Think you can’t afford to send your little one to a camp, blame it on the hefty registration fee? Worry not! Camp Kismet not only comes for a lesser price than most camps, but also offers more fun to low-income children.

Camp Kismet, held at Fayette County’s 4-H Park, hosts nearly105 children aged between 5-12 every year, mostly coming for low-income families.

This pocket-friendly camp offers normal camping activities, including hiking, fishing, crafts, rafting and swimming as well as meals.

Not just. This camp also provides new shoes and a backpack filled with school supplies to each child for free.

The registration for the camp is a petty $50. The camp expenses and administrative costs are borne by Gazette Charities’ Send-a-Child-to-Camp Fund, which provides kids with scholarships to attend area summer camps. All donations received go toward helping send kids to camp.
