Camp Tanadoona has been in operation as a Camp Fire camp since 1924. Camp Fire is a national youth development organization that began in 1910.
In Excelsior, MN, just west of the Twin Cities metro area.
The relaxed, open atmosphere at camp provides young people relief from the pressure and stress of daily experiences. It’s a neutral and unique setting for everyone–not one person’s home or territory. There is a feeling of wonder and excitement common to all. We are inclusive, welcoming all young people, Camp Tanadoona creates community, builds leadership skills, connects young people with nature, and helps develop self-confidence.
A traditional, yet unique camp experience. Day Camp, Resident Camp, Specialty Camps.
Traditional camp activities from swimming and canoeing, to nature hikes, climbing wall, archery, arts & crafts, campfires, songs, s’mores, and more.
Day Camp is M-F starting at $230 to $245 for focused sessions; Mini-resident camp is S-W and is $280; Resident Camp is S-F and is $445. We also offer specialty camps like teen tenting week and Northwoods excursions for $500 (S-F)
30-40 local and international camp counselors per summer. We recruit by posting positions, advertising, social media, and word of mouth.
We offer youth a chance to un-plug from their digital lives and plug into nature. Campers get the chance to discover their spark in a beautiful camp setting. We have 103-acres of woods, prairie, lake, forest, and wetlands to explore. Youth make new friends and life-long memories.
Enrollment begins in January and is open until camps fill. We try to accommodate families to the best of our abilities, but it’s best to enroll early. We offer an early bird registration discount that ends March 15.
Again, we’re inclusive, welcoming ALL youth. Camp Tanadoona is a great place to learn, grow, and most of all have fun!
