Music, in three areas: small ensemble playing (one person on a part), composition or singing.
Our sessions are in 3 areas, instrumental, vocal and composition. Generally speaking, we offer small group settings. Specific activities include rehearsal and coaching sessions, recitals, and master classes.
All our sessions are day camps and most are 2 weeks in length except the Composition Intensive, which runs for 5 weeks. Admission is by audition, and starts with a $50 application fee. Tuition runs between $450 – 985, depending on the session.
Our faculty and staff are primarily selected from current Conservatory Pre-‐College faculty and many of them have been with the program for a long time. The G&S Scenes staff is from Lamplighters Music Theatre. We have an excellent student/teacher ratio as most of the classes are small.
We provide high level music training in a stimulating, supportive environment. Kids who are excited about their music study and looking for a community of other kids of similar mind will find that at Summer Music West.
Audition Registration is open now and will be until April 15.
Admission to Summer Music West is based on each applicant’s abilities as demonstrated in the audition as well as compatibility with other applicants. Those selected enjoy the camaraderie of other talented young musicians and an immersive musical life for the duration of camp.
