Talisman was established after we realized the need for a place for kids who wanted a camp experience, but required additional social support and structure that a traditional camp couldn’t typically provide. Today, we have grown to provide 7 distinct programs for campers ages 8-22 to spend a summer growing socially, developing emotionally, and connecting with kids just like them.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Where are you located?” tab_id=”1488799637923-90e6eeee-24b9″][vc_column_text]We are located in a small town in western North Carolina, about 40 minutes south of Asheville NC.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What is your camp’s philosophy?” tab_id=”1488805562684-15743552-22ad”][vc_column_text]Our camp mission is to provide young people with learning differences exceptional opportunities to increase self-confidence, independence, motivation, and social competence in a safe and nurturing environment.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What does your camp specialize in?” tab_id=”1489641476973-9e53225f-5ee1″][vc_column_text]We specialize in kids who struggle socially; this can be due to impulse control, anxiety, limited range of interests, delayed development of social skills or who are socially or emotionally immature.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What activities do you offer?” tab_id=”1489147114089-cc047cc3-c1b2″][vc_column_text]We offer a wide range of activities for all our campers.
