Since 1949 (64 years). We were founded by the Quakers in the Santa Cruz Mountains, but have been an independent non profit organization since 1956.

We strive to share the joys of living and playing in nature with kids from every background while learning the importance of community and respect.

Anywhere between 25 and 40 staff. We have many returning staff. Many first participate in our Leadership Training Program. We also get new counselors through word of mouth and university postings.

[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Why should parents send their kids to your camp?” tab_id=”1488805831034-03374034-f024″]

Because it will change their kids’ lives. They will come home stronger, more confident, more appreciative of nature and more understanding of those different from themselves. They will make lifelong friends and become part of a supportive community.

We are remotely located, but we provide transportation from Palo Alto and Berkeley. We also have a large amount of equipment for campers to borrow if they don’t have everything they need to go backpacking.
